The NYPD never authorized the S&W Model 13 for officers. The NYPD never authorized .357 magnum. The S&W Model 10 Heavy Barrrel in 38 special was authorized. In the late eighties a New York City uniformed officer would have been carrying either the Model 10, Model 64, or the Ruger Police Six.
