F-1 High-Explosive Fragmentation hand grenade

The F-1 Hand Grenade was a Soviet Era fragmentation grenade that was used during World War 2. It was still in use by Soviet military forces all the way through the 1980s, even though the RGD-5 was the standard issue grenade for front line Soviet forces as of the mid 1960s. It was seen during the Russo-Afghan War (1979-1988). It was sometimes referred to (incorrectly) as the RGD-1 Grenade during the Cold War, and only after the fall of the Communism did Western scholars determine that the Russians never called it anything other than "F-1".
