Beretta 92FS
Max Payne's signature 9mm pistols are Beretta 92FSs. The use of dual Beretta's is an homage to John Woo, which the Max Payne series borrows heavily from.
Desert Eagle
The Desert Eagle XIX is the signature weapon of Mona Sax. The version in game is a very shiny stainless steel, with gold controls and ivory grips. In game it holds 10 rounds, only possible with a Desert Eagle in .357 with a round chambered and a full magazine. However, close examination of the gun shows ".50AE" on the front of the gun's frame. In the console versions of the game, the Desert Eagle is shown in something like olive drab, and the slide does not move when fired.
Remington 870
The Remington 870P, distinguished by its folding stock, is the primary pump action shotgun available in the game.
Sawn-Off shotgun
The "Sawed-Off" double barrel shotgun is the first shotgun found by Max. It's primary usefulness comes from having the fastest rate of fire of the three shotguns, though as it only holds 2 shells it's effectiveness against multiple targets is limited.
Sentinel Arms Striker-12
The Sentinel Arms Striker-12 is known as the Striker Shotgun in the game. Note that this weapon can't be reloaded with a simple subtitution of the drum-shaped magazine (as seen in the game): the buckshot must be inserted one by one as in normal tube-feeded shotgun. Also the magazine had a capacity of 12 cartridge, not 10.
MAC-11
The Ingram seen in-game are clearly a reproduction of the MAC-11 produced by the Military Armament Corporation. It feature a 32 round magazine, probably to simulate a Ingram Model 10/9 chambered in 9mm Parabellum or a more lightweight Model 11 (produced only in 9mm X 17 Short Browning, also know as .380 ACP or .380 auto)
Heckler & Koch MP5A3(Chopped and converted HK94)
The Heckler & Koch MP5A3 in the game, called simply the "MP5" is actually a chopped and converted HK94. This is likely because the developers were given an HK94 to model the game weapon from. The distinguishing features of the HK94 are it's lack of a paddle magazine release, the different shape of the grip and where it connects to the lower receiver, and the slightly different shape of the barrel(which has been cut down from it's original carbine length).
AK-47
The AK-47 appears in game as the "Kalashnikov" and is most notably carried by Mike the Cowboy, one of Vladimir's high ranking soldiers.
M4A1 Carbine
The Colt M4A1 Carbine appears in game as the "M4 Carbine." It is portrayed as having a very slow rate of fire, but makes up for it with power and accuracy.
Steyr SSG 69
The Steyr SSG 69 appears in game as the "Sniper Rifle." It is first seen in the hands of cleaners at Max's apartment complex, and Max can later get it for himself. Mona can never acquire this weapon.
FPK / PSL Sniper Rifle
The FPK / PSL Sniper Rifle appears in game as the "Dragunov". Used only by Mona Sax.
Molotov Cocktail
Max and Mona can collect Molotovs mostly from Russian gang members.
Mk 2 Hand Grenade
The Mk 2 Hand Grenade can be found and used by both Max and Mona. However, when viewed in the inventory, it looks like a M26 Hand grenade.
M26 Hand Grenade
The Mk2 Hand grenade shows up as a M26 hand grenade when in inventory view.
