Golgo 13 is an Anime television series, produced by The Answer Studio, which aired on TV Tokyo and other stations from April 11, 2008 to March 27, 2009, lasting 50 episodes.
Golgo 13 began as a manga series written and illustrated by Takao Saito, published in Shogakukan's Big Comic magazine since January 1969.[1] In 1976, the manga won the 21st Shogakukan Manga Award for general manga.[2] The series follows the titular character, a professional assassin for hire. The manga was one of the longest running adult manga in Japan and sold over 200 million copies in various formats, including compilation books. It was been adapted into two live-action feature films, two animated films, a television series and five video games.
There were two anime films based on this successful series, Golgo 13: The Professional (1983) and Golgo 13: Queen Bee (1998).
