The Colt Revolving Rifle Model 1855 was an early repeating rifle design produced in 1855 by the Colt's Manufacturing Company. The design was essentially similar to revolver type pistols, with a rotating cylinder that held five or six rounds in a variety of calibers from .40 to .64 inches.
The Colt Revolving Rifle Model 1855 has been seen in the following Films, Video Games and Television shows:
Films
- Rio Alexander as Campos in 3:10 to Yuma (2007) (Full Length Telescopic Sight)
In the John Wayne movie El Dorado, actor Arthur Hunnicut's character, Bull Harris, is carrying a revolving carbine as his main weapon. I do not have a copy of the movie, so I cannot say for certain whether Hunnicut's carbine is Colt Model 1855 or the Remington 1858 "Gentlemen's Carbine" such as was used in The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.
