The following guns were used in the movie Sniper
M40A1
Gunnery Sgt. Thomas Beckett (Tom Berenger), USMC Sniper, uses an M40A1 Sniper Rifle - 7.62x51mm NATO which is based on the Remington Model 700 Bolt Action Rifle. The M40A1 rifles used in the film were Remington 700 rifles, supplied for the filming by 'Weapons and Effects' of San Rafael, CA. The rifles were fully prepared as though they would see real use, with aftermarket bedding, trigger jobs, McMillan stocks and parkerization done by Scott, McDougall & Associates of Santa Rosa, CA.
Heckler & Koch SR9TC
SWAT sniper Richard Miller (Billy Zane) uses a Heckler & Koch SR9TC as his main sniper rifle. The SR9TC in the film is actually a conversion of an HK91, like nearly all of the SR9s seen in Hollywood movies. Note in the screenshot below that it lacks the forward assist, which characterizes the factory SR9TC.
SVD Dragunov
The guerilla sniper DeSilva, who was trained by Beckett (Tom Berenger), uses a SVD Dragunov as his sniper rifle. Another guerilla sniper at Ochoa's Compound also uses a Dragunov.
Browning M2
"El Cirujano" (Ken Radley) fires a tripod mounted Browning M2 12.7x99mm (.50BMG) NATO at the lookout tower where Beckett was.
Heckler & Koch MP5
The Heckler & Koch MP5 is seen carried by seveal Ochoa guards. One guard carries his MP5 9x19mm fitted with a night vision scope.
Norinco Type-56
The Norinco Type-56 rifle is carried by several guerrilla fighters in the film, most notably by the one who opens fire on the helicopter carrying Miller.
M60D
Marine doorgunners fire M60D machine guns from their Marine UH-1 helicopters.
RPD Light Machine Gun
Guerrillas are seen firing a RPD light machine gun into the countryside after Beckett's target is eliminated.
SIG-Sauer P226
Beckett carries a SIG-Sauer P226 as his sidearm throughout the film.
LAR Grizzly MARK I.45 Winchester Magnum
"El Cirujano" (Ken Radley) carries a LAR Grizzly Mark I in his shoulder holster. Beckett is also able to use it at the end of the film.
