M16A2

Standard Issue Rifle of the US military and is seen in the hands of the rogue Force Recon Marines. Many have tactical flashlights mounted on the barrels.

They're not M16A2s; if you look closely, you can see they have A1 receivers without the brass deflector and elevator-adjustable rear sight, which means they are actually M16A1s fitted with M16A2 handguards. This is actually somewhat common in Hollywood movies from the 1990s. Curiously, however, the Marines who do the 21-gun salute at the funeral do have real M16A2s.

Goodspeed and Mason each commandeer these rifles from two of the Marines, and use them for the rest of the film. Some of the CAR-15s have tactical flashlights mounted on the barrels.
