Nice, but where's the trigger? This article or section is incomplete. You can help IMFDB by expanding it. |
The following weapons appear in the game
Springfield Armory M1911-A1
A 1911-A1, possibly based off the Springfield Armory M1911-A1, is the backup handgun for human players. If a second one is obtained, they can be dual wielded; the second lacks a flashlight. The 1911s have 15-round magazines (and never run out of reloads, being emergency weapons), even though the magazines being loaded into them are standard single-stack .45 ACP mags (see screenshot below). They are Zoey's primary weapons in the intro film and the trailers. The guns say Finleyville Armory on the slide (instead of Springfield Armory) due to copyright/licensing laws. They are actually pretty good weapons, having great accuracy and packing some punch -- they kill common infected in 1-4 shots.
Composite Shotgun
The Pump Shotgun used in Left 4 Dead is a fictional model that seems to be based off of the Remington 870, Ithaca 37 and the Winchester 1300. Francis uses this weapon in the intro cut-scene and during the game. The receiver has the fictional make of the shotgun named as "Renegade Rangemaster".
Uzi
A full-sized Uzi with a 50-round magazine (?!) and a flashlight taped to the handguard is the other First Tier weapon. It is Louis' main weapon in the cinematics.
M16A2
The M16A2 with a 50-round magazine (rendered as a standard 30-rounder) and a flashlight clipped to the barrel is a Second Tier weapon. There is a technical error in that the real M16A2 fires in 3-round bursts rather than full auto -- it is the A3 that is auto-capable. It is Bill's main weapon in the intro cinematic, and both Bill and Louis will pick them up if they find them during the game.
Benelli M4 Super 90
Another Second Tier weapon, in-game the Benelli M4 Super 90 has a 10-round magazine and a flashlight clipped in front of the handguard. Francis will use it whenever he finds one.
Ruger Mini-14 Ranch Rifle
The Ruger Mini-14 Ranch Rifle appears in the game. The magazine holds 15 rounds. The stock design suggests a pre-2005 model. Strangely enough, the Rifle combines the old, single-bladed front sight with a John Masen flashhider and the post-2005 aperture rear sight. Zoey uses it in game.
GE M134 Minigun
An M134 Minigun, mounted on a monopod and set up behind sandbags, is usually found at the end of a campaign. It shreds infected to pieces -- very satisfying to use. Despite the multi-barrel operation designed to prevent this, it does overheat, presumably for game balance reasons.
Molotov Cocktail
Molotov Cocktails can be used in the game. The result is a small portion of the floor is set on fire for a few seconds, anything that wanders too close will be lit on fire.
Pipe Bombs
A Pipe Bomb is the game's equivalent of a grenade. It is incredibly effective against basic zombies; they are attracted by its beeping noises and swarm to it, only to be wiped out en masse when it goes off. However, the Tank -- one thing you might really need it for -- runs away from it.
