The following guns were used in the film Frequency:
Glock 17
John Sullivan (Jim Caviezel) uses a police issued 2nd generation Glock 17 as his main sidearm through out the film but never fires it.
Smith and Wesson Model 36
Jack Shepard (Shawn Doyle) in 1969 uses a Smith and Wesson Model 36 snub nose revolver in .38 special caliber holding five shots which is accurately depicted. Also Satch DeLeon (Andre Braugher) and the man he is with have .38s drawn in 1969 at the docks after Frank Sullivan (Dennis Quaid) "drowns" Shepard. You can see them holster the .38s into cross draw hip holsters.
SIG-Sauer P220
Used by Jack Shepard (Shawn Doyle) in 1999 as his police issued sidearm. It is classified as a SIG P220 based on its large muzzle and 7+1 capacity. (despite the last 8th round being given a click sound instead of a bang even though a shell is seen flying out of the gun as it locks back.)
Remington 870
Frank Sullivan (Dennis Quaid) uses a Remington 870 shotgun in 1969 to blow off Jack Shepard's (Shawn Doyle) hand and in 1999 to kill him.
