The followed the adventures of two wisecracking Private Investigators, Stuart Bailey (Efrem Zimbalist Jr.) and Jeff Spencer (Roger Smith) who ran the Sunset Strip Detective Agency, while romancing women, cracking jokes and catching bad guys.

Colt Detective Special
- Stuart Bailey (Efrem Zimbalist Jr.) usually carried a stainless steel Colt Detective Special Snub nose revolver with Stag horn Grips - .38 special. He carries other revolvers in promotional materials for the show.
