SOCOM 16
The military stopped issuing F/A M14's because they were too hard to control, existing rifles were fixed to fire semi only. M14/M1A's come in 3 barrel lengths 22", 18" bush or scout and the 16"socom. The military uses the 22 or 18. the navy seals prefer the 18" in the sage ebr chassis. MOD 0 or MOD 1
Film
- An Umbrella soldier in Resident Evil: Apocalypse (fitted with M68 Aimpoint scope)
Video Games
- Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (being semi-automatic and with a shortened barrel, it more likely to me an M1A SOC16 than regular M14 rifle in CoD4:MW)
- Dark Sector (as "VX Carbine")
Mk 14 Mod 0 EBR
This weapon is actually called Mk. 14 Mod 0 EBR (Mark 14 Mod 0 Enhanced Battle Rifle). Even thought the internal parts are from an M14, this weapon is not called M14 EBR. This is a common mistake. It was developed for the US Navy (SEAL Teams to be more precise), and thus it is type classified as a "Mark" weapons system.
Film
- Angelina Jolie as Jane Smith in Mr. & Mrs. Smith
Video Games
- Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (with suppressor, laser sight, and flashlight all optional)
- Operation 7 (with a variety of optics, foregrip, stocks, and 16", 18" and 22" barrel lengths)
- Modern Warfare 2 From the screen shots, "SOAP" has a MK14 MOD 1 on his back and not a mod 0
