Ruger Super Redhawk .44 Magnum

The Ruger Redhawk is a large frame conventional revolver that is offered in both single and double action. It is available in both blued and Stainless Steel finish. What distinguishes it from other revolvers is the fact that it was intentionally built with substantial reinforcements in the frame, chamber and cylinder, making it capable of taking very hot custom hand loads. This design feature was done to cater to the custom loaders, ever searching for more powerful handgun cartridges. At the time of it's introduction, 1979, it was the most powerful handgun in the world, being that it could take the .44 Magnum cartridge, custom loaded to maximize velocity. Such 'hot' loads were not recommended for any of the other .44 magnum handguns at the time, including the venerable Smith & Wesson Model 29/629. Since then other larger calibers and handguns have been introduced.
