Actually, there are very few real Gew 98s visible in the movie. Most of the rifles used by the German characters are some other design of bolt action rifle that I cannot identify.
- I recognize M1891s and M1903 Turk mausers in the trenches. When i saw it on VHS, i did see a few real Gewehr 98s but the vast majority of the rifles seemed to be M1903 Turkish Mausers. MoviePropMaster2008 03:13, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
