Ion Fury is a retro throwback shooter developed by Voidpoint and prequel to Bombshell. The player plays as Shelly "Bombshell" Harrison, an EDF bomb disposal expert who finds fighting against the cybernetic forces of the evil cult scientist Dr. Jadus Heskel.
While Bombshell was a top down stick shooter, Ion Fury pays homage to Duke Nukem (since "Bombshell" was actually a cut character from Duke Nukem Forever) by being a Duke Nukem 3D style shooter on a modified Build engine.
The following weapons appear in the video game Ion Fury:
Player Weapons
"Loverboy"
Seemingly based on the obscure "Pistola con caricato", the "Loverboy" is Shelly's default weapon. It holds 18 bullets at once but in practice the weapon can only be fired 6 times before reloading as all 3 barrels are always fired (and the ammo counter treats 3 bullets as one to make keeping track easier.) together with one of the barrels always hitting the center of the player's crosshair (and above it due to recoil if the player fires rapidly) while the other two barrels spread out over a distance.
TDI Vector
The "Penetrator" submachine gun to be based on a TDI Vector submachine gun, holding 50 bullets in a magazine and firing incendiary rounds. Shelly can dual two Penetrator submachine guns at once though the sprite for the left Penetrator is just mirrored.
Gun Store
In the Aftershock expansion the player enters a gun store in the level "Five Finger Discount" with various iconic firearms in a display case as well as the fictional "Noisy Cricket" from Men in Black and a Sawed-Off Shotgun.
"Love is Blue"
Bayonetta's Mauser C96-inspired "Love is Blue" pistols from Bayonetta 2 appear in the left side of the display case.
Winchester 1887
A sawed-off Winchester 1887 appears in the left side of the display case without the cutaway trigger as presumably a reference to Terminator 2: Judgement Day.
LAPD 2019 Blaster
The unnamed LAPD blaster from Blade Runner appears in the display case.
Colt Carbine with M203
An M16 rifle series carbine with an M203 launcher appears in the shop.
M41A Pulse Rifle
The M41A Pulse Rifle from Aliens appears in the gunshop.
Auto 9
The "Auto 9" from Robocop appears in the gunshop.
AMT Hardballer .45 Longslide
What appears to be a AMT Hardballer Longslide appears as a refernce to the first Terminator film though the grips are brown instead of black and no laserlock sight is attached.
BlasTech DL-44 Heavy Blaster Pistol
The "BlasTech DL-44 heavy blaster pistol" from Star Wars, it is a modified a Mauser C96 handgun.
