The Voevodin pistol (Russian: Пистолет системы Воеводина (ПВ), "Voevodin pistol (PV)"). On May 17, 1938, a competition was announced for the design of a new type of 7.62 mm semi-automatic pistol to arm military personnel of armored forces. The Voevodin pistol was the answer to this competition. The Voevodin (PV) system pistol is a Soviet self-loading pistol, planned for adoption by the USSR armed forces in place of the TT pistol. Developed by TsKB-14 (Tula) designer P.V. Voevodin. By the end of the war, from 500 to 1,500 weapons with different details were created. The weapon was constantly improved during this period.
