Doberman Cop (Japanese title: ドーベルマン刑事, Dōberuman deka) is a 1977 hardboiled crime drama film based on the 1975-1979 manga series of the same name. The film stars Shin'ichi Chiba as Joji Kano, a hardened police officer from Okinawa visiting Tokyo who investigates a string of serial murders and arsons.

Choei "Hotshot" Mikawa (Koichi Iwaki) carries with him an 8 3/8" barrel Smith & Wesson Model 29 throughout the movie, apparently given to him by an American tourist and Vietnam War veteran. The revolver is later prominently used by Joji Kano (Shin'ichi Chiba). The Model 29 stands in for Kano's signature .44 Magnum custom Ruger Blackhawk from the original manga.
