Just as seen in the Dirty Harry movie series, the San Francisco Police Department does not have "detectives". Officers who fulfill those roles are called Inspector. This is accurate and has not changed for 125 years.

- Inspector Nash Bridges (Don Johnson) uses a 1911 in .38 Super with a two port compensator. The gun was designed by Jim Zubenia, and built at Mac's .45 Shop.
