The Secret in Their Eyes (El Secreto de sus ojos in Spanish) is a 2009 Argentine crime thriller film set in the period of Argentina's Dirty War (1976–1983). Benjamín Espósito (Ricardo Darín), a retired judiciary employee writes a novel about a unsolved crime occurred in 1974 where the victim was brutally murdered and raped. Along the years it becomes an obsession for Benjamín, victim's husband and the murderer. In 2010, the film won the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film at the 82nd Academy Awards.
