The Raid 2 Serbuan Maut 2
American poster
The Raid 2 , also known as The Raid 2: Berandal , is a 2014 Indonesian/American sequel to 2011's The Raid: Redemption written, edited and directed by Gareth Evans, who performed the same duties on the first film. Iko Uwais returns as Rama, along with a few other actors from the first film. Yayan Ruhian , who played Mad Dog in the first film, returns as a different character.
Writer and director Gareth Evans had started working on another script, Berandal , as a follow-up to his first film, Merantau , but eventually moved onto The Raid: Redemption for cost reasons. Berandal was then adapted as a sequel to The Raid: Redemption . Evans has indicated he would be interested in making a third film which would take place a few hours before the end of The Raid 2 .
Like the first film, airsoft and replica weapons were used in place of real firearms, with CGI shell casings, muzzle flash and smoke added digitally in post-production.
