The Mark of Cain is a 2007 UK Iraq War television film that originally aired on Channel 4 in the United Kingdom. Set during the occupation of Basra, Iraq, the film focuses on a section of British Army soldiers from the (fictional) Northdale Rifles as they spend their tour of duty patrolling and dealing with civilian complaints. After the death of the beloved company commander in an ambush, events spiral out of control after the suspected insurgents are detained and abused. The title refers to the now famous eve-of-battle speech by Colonel Tim Collins of the Royal Irish Regiment.
