The checkered walnut medallion grips of the Smith & Wesson revolver carried by Ensign Jesse Brown (Jonathan Majors) suggest either a pre-1942 Victory Model or a standard Model M&P rather than the smooth wooden-gripped Victory Model contracted by the U.S. Navy.

Rifles

Arisaka Rifle

An Arisaka rifle variant is used by PLA soldiers. This is historically feasible, as numerous Arisaka rifles leftover from Japan's occupation and wars in Korea and China were used by Communist forces in both nations.
