The QSZ-92 is a Chinese pistol, and the current service pistol of the Chinese People's Liberation Army. Though commonly claimed as being designed and manufactured by Norinco Group, Chinese government-affiliated media have primarily indicated that the weapon is designed by the No. 208 Research Institute, a subsidiary of the China South Industries Group (CSGC), and was primarily manufactured by CSGC subsidiaries.
The Chinese export company Norinco (not to be confused with Norinco Group) exports two 9mm models of the QSZ-92: the CF-98 and the NP42. Both are branded as "Norinco" products, even though they were not manufactured by Norinco.
