Trigun: Badlands Rumble is a 2010 Japanese animated action comedy film by Madhouse. It is based on the Trigun manga and anime, written by Yasuhiro Nightow. 20 years after meddling into the bank heist of a notorious robber named Gasback, Vash the Stampede is heading towards Macca City. Rumors say that the legendary thief might appear there causing an enormous influx of bounty hunters in the area who want to collect the $$300,000,000 prize for his head. A fiery young woman named Amelia is also searching for Gasback, for reasons unknown.
Note:Many futuristic versions of real firearms and fictional guns from the original Trigun anime return in this movie. A couple of new radically designed weapons appear in this sequel of sorts, and a few authentic firearm designs also can be seen. Most modifications on real world firearms are largely cosmetic and will simply be noted as "Futuristic" in the section header.
The following weapons were used in the anime film Trigun: Badlands Rumble:
AGL Arms Factory .45 Long Colt (EF Auto Ejecting, Double Action)
Vash the Stampede's primary weapon is a top-break double action .45 Colt revolver with a 6'o clock barrel (called "45 Long Colt" by anime fans). Badlands Rumble uses the manga version of the 45 Long Colt, so the movie gun's barrel looks different from the the tv anime's. Vash is seen reloading his revolver with push type JetLoader speed loaders in the movie. Being the Humanoid Typhoon, Vash is extremely proficient with the gun; being able to shoot fast with perfect accuracy and reload very quickly.
Leaf Arms Lever Action Pistol
Female gunslinger Amelia wields a lever action rifle modified into a "Mare's Leg" configuration with the Luger Carbine's toggle lock mechanism and fore-end, detachable double stack magazines, and a hexagonal barrel. The pistol is chambered in .22 Hornet, and is fired in semi-automatic mode. According to the movie's artbook sketches, the lever is for securing the magazine while the toggle lock is for chambering a round.
Grader Single Hand 2043
Nicholas D. Wolfwood uses a fictional .45 ACP pistol as his sidearm. The front of the triggerguard is separate from the rest and acts as a non-reciprocating cocking lever, allowing the shooter to rack the slide with their trigger finger for completely one-handed usage. A similar mechanism was used on the real Spanish JoLoAr pistol, though the gun otherwise bares little resemblance to the JoLoAr.
Colt Lightning (Futuristic)
Several Colt Lightning revolvers (called "Belief Lightning" in the Trigun World) are used by Gasback's underling Cain, as well as bounty hunters.
Mauser C96 (Futuristic)
Several bounty hunters carry Mauser C96 semi-automatic pistols that use detachable magazines like the Mauser M712 Schnellfeuer, and cocking handles like a TEC-9's.
Remington 1875 (Futuristic)
A couple of futuristic Remington 1875 revolvers are seen in the movie.
What looks to be Beretta Px4 Storm pistols are held by hunters and bodyguards.
Remington 1866 Derringer
Gofsef Nebraska's long barrel Remington 1866 Derringer from the anime makes a cameo in the movie. This time it has pearl grips.
Toy Revolver
Several kids prank Vash with toy revolvers. They use generic double-action designs.
Shotguns
Gasback's 4x4 Auto Shotgun
Veteran robber Gasback wields an four barreled sawed off semi-automatic shotgun. The weapon feeds from two magazines, one at the top, and one at the bottom. The upper barrels use the upper mag, and the lower barrels the lower mag.
Wandering priest Nicholas D. Wolfwood uses a massive cross shaped weapon for both offense and defense. The long arm contains a machine gun, while the short arm houses a rocket launcher. The side arms hold the machine gun's ammunition. The weapon's big size and very tough construction means he can shield himself and another person from gunfire, provided they stand horizontally. The Badlands Rumble's Punisher is based on the manga, so it differs a bit in design from the Trigun anime.
Gasback's Gauntlet Gun
Gasback's primary weapon is a mechanical gauntlet that he wears on his right arm which contains a rotating, triple-barreled machine gun and rocket launcher. The heavy gauntlet is flight-assisted to relieve some of the weight using small jet engines. It also conceals an energy weapon that emits arcing bolts of electricity and can act as an EMP.
Milly's Stun Gun
Milly Thompson carries a Gatling Gun styled stun gun.
Double Barreled Ball & Chain Launcher
A miner tries to trap Gasback with a launcher that fires a ball and chain projectile.
Shovel Rifle
Same miner has a shovel with a gun barrel beside him.
Futuristic Cannon
A man is seen carrying a futuristic looking cannon similar to Mega Man's Arm Cannon, except this is standalone and feeds from a top magazine.
Mounted Weaponry
Unknown Launcher
The bounty hunters possess a six barreled artillery piece.
Remote Controlled Sentry Gun
Gasback's underlings use two remote controlled multi-barreled sentry guns against Wolfwood and Amelia.
Fictional Mortar
Gasback's underlings deploy several remote controlled Mortars against Wolfwood and Amelia.
Explosives
Model 24 Stielhandgranate (Futuristic)
Gasback retrieves a Model 24 Stielhandgranate looking grenade with a short handle from Dorino's hat during a bank robbery.
