George Peppard (1928-1994) was an American actor best known to television fans for his roles as Col. John "Hannibal" Smith in the 1980s action series The A-Team and private investigator Thomas Banacek in the 1970s series Banacek. Prior to these roles, Peppard had been featured in serious roles in such films as The Blue Max, Tobruk (1967), and How the West Was Won.
