Revolvers
Colt Python
Hawkins Police Chief Jim Hopper (David Harbour) carries a nickel-plated 4 inch Colt Pythonas his duty sidearm to replace the Smith & Wesson Model 66 that he lost in the first season.
Colt Official Police
A Colt Official Police is seen used by a Chicago Police Department officer in "Chapter Seven: The Lost Sister" (S2E07). The revolver appears to be missing its ejection rod. In "Chapter Nine: The Gate", Chief Jim Hopper (David Harbour) gives Dr. Sam Owens (Paul Reiser) what appears to be a Colt Official Police. This is likely a continuity error, as Hopper was seen carrying a Colt Python revolver before.
Smith & Wesson Model 36 (Nickel)
In a flashback in "Chapter Five: Dig Dug" (S2E05), Terry Ives (Aimee Mullins) is seen carrying a nickel plated Smith & Wesson Model 36 when she breaks into the Hawkins National Laboratory in an attempt to rescue her daughter. In "Chapter Seven: The Lost Sister" (S2E07), a store clerk pulls a Model 36 on Axel (James Landry Hébert) when he sees him trying to steal from the cash register.
Smith & Wesson Model 66
In "Chapter Five: Dig Dug" (S2E05), Chief Hopper's Colt Python changes to a Smith & Wesson Model 66 in continuity error.
Colt Detective Special
In "Chapter Seven: The Lost Sister" (S2E07), Kali Prasad / Eight (Linnea Berthelsen) carries a Colt Detective Special with white tape wrapped around the grip.
Smith & Wesson Model 19
Hawkins Police Department officers Powell (Rob Morgan) and Callahan (John Paul Reynolds) appear to carry the Smith & Wesson Model 19 as their sidearms.
Pistols
Browning Hi-Power
Military Police officers at the Hawkins National Laboratory appear to carry the Browning Hi-Power as their sidearm, replacing the Beretta 92FS they carried in the first season. In "Chapter Seven: The Lost Sister" (S2E07), several Chicago Police Department SWAT officers are seen armed with Hi-Powers. Bob Newby (Sean Astin) briefly uses a Hi-Power in "Chapter Eight: The Mind Flayer" (S2E08), taken from a dead MP.
.
Colt M1911A1
In "Chapter Six: The Spy" (S2E06), what appears to be several M1911A1s are briefly seen in the armory at Hawkins National Laboratory. In "Chapter Seven: The Lost Sister" (S2E07), Axel (James Landry Hébert), Chicago Police Department SWAT officers and a Chicago Police detective are also seen carrying M1911's. .
Shotguns
Ithaca 37
In "Chapter Nine: The Gate" (S2E09), Chief Jim Hopper (David Harbour) takes an Ithaca 37 with extended magazine tube from his patrol car to use alongside an Bushmaster AR-15 carbine upon re-entering Hawkins National Laboratory.
Winchester Model 1300
In "Chapter Seven: The Lost Sister", a Chicago Police Department SWAT officer is seen armed with what appears to be a Winchester Model 1300 shotgun.
Submachine Guns
Heckler & Koch MP5K
Heckler & Koch MP5K, with the anachronistic side folding stock, is seen carried by military police officers at the Hawkins National Laboratory in "Chapter Four: Will The Wise" (S2E04).
Rifles/Carbines
Bushmaster HBAR Carbine
In "Chapter Eight: The Mind Flayer" (S2E08), Hawkins Police Chief Jim Hopper (David Harbour) arms himself with a Bushmaster Carbine taken from the deceased MP, which he later takes with him in the Season finale "Chapter Nine: The Gate" (S2E09). Hopper notably keeps the rifle set to semi-auto at all times (which is correct as the Bushmaster HBAR is semi-automatic only in real life) and demonstrates familiarity with the weapon, reflecting his past Vietnam War service. The Bushmaster HBARs are fitted with Knight's Armament Company quad picatinny rail handguards with rail covers, buffer tube sling loops and M4 LE stocks. Since Season 2's setting takes place in 1984, the Bushmaster HBAR itself and attachments equipped are anachronistic as they weren't introduced until the 1990s to 2000s. It is possible that this rifle could be standing in for period-accurate and similar looking Colt carbines like the Colt XM177E2 or Colt Model 653.
Colt M4A1
U.S. Soldiers and some Military Police officers stationed at Hawkins National Laboratory carry Colt M4A1 carbines as their main armament. The soldiers who venture into the underground tunnel systems in "Chapter Six: The Spy" (S2E06) mostly carry M4A1s equipped with M203 grenade launchers and fitted with Knight's Armament Company quad picatinny rail handguards with rail covers, along with Crane SOPMOD buttstocks and have flashlight attachments mounted on top of the detachable carry handle rear sight (which eliminates any functional sighting and the placement of the flashlights is rather strange in terms of the quad rails available on the KAC handguard, but it's possible this may be replicating what could be done on a fixed carrying handle AR-15 carbine at the time period); in keeping with the scene being a reference to Aliens. In a continuity error, Jim Hopper (David Harbour) is seen carrying a plain M4A1 with rounded handguard and M4 LE buttstock as he carries a sedated Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) on his shoulder in "Chapter Eight: The Mind Flayer" (S2E08) and again in the Season finale "Chapter Nine: The Gate" (S2E09) upon entering back the Hawkins National Laboratory with Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) before the rifle changes back to the Bushmaster HBAR carbine he initially armed himself with near the ending of each episodes. The M4A1 Carbine is anachronistic in 1984 in which Season 2 is set in as it was not issued until 1994, however the XM4 carbine program was approved and being trialled during the season's setting.
Colt M16A1
What appears to be a Colt M16A1 with a M203 grenade launcher and fitted with a flashlight attachment on top of the fixed carry handle rear sight is carried by a soldier who ventures into the underground tunnel systems in "Chapter Six: The Spy" (S2E06). The flashlight placement would eliminate any functional sighting, but it's possible this may be done on a fixed carrying handle AR-15 rifle to authenticate attachment placement to the time period, and likely also to be held by the hip by the soldier while the flashlight emits lighting and "sighting". Unlike the Bushmaster HBAR and Colt M4A1, the M16A1 is period correct for 1984 in Season 2.
Mossberg 144 LS
When defending the house against the Demo-dogs, Hopper (David Harbour) hands Nancy Wheeler (Natalia Dyer) Will's Mossberg 144 LS in "Chapter Eight: The Mind Flayer" (S2E08).
Ruger Mini-14
Chicago Police Department SWAT officers are armed with Ruger Mini-14 rifles in "Chapter Seven: The Lost Sister" (S2E07).
Other
Flamethrower
Soldiers in silver bunker suits at Hawkins National Laboratory are seen using flamethrowers throughout the series. They are fitted with unusual quad pilot lights.
M203 Grenade Launcher
In "Chapter Six: The Spy" (S2E06), soldiers who venture into the underground tunnels have what appear to be M203 grenade launchers attached to their M4A1 and M16A1 rifles.
