The following guns will be used in the video game Modern Warfare 2 (Call of Duty)
Note: Guns need to be identified on the discussion page!
Steyr AUG HBar
This is Indeed an A2, but with an A1 Sight mounted on the top rail. In the game demo, when you hover over an Steyr AUG HBar to pick it up, there is always a small white version of the weapon you want to pick up with the name next to it. It does say HBAR, but the white picture looks like an L85, not an AUG.
FAMAS F1
The FAMAS F1 is seen in the game. According to the firefight on mission "Cliffhangar" Roach can be seen shooting his unsurpressed secondary weapon the FAMAS F1 on burst-fire this is similar to the M16A4 in the previous game Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. They have been seen configured with red dot sights in-game
M4A1 Carbine
Possibly could be an early M468 or other M4 Variant. However, it is likely an M4 with ARMS SIR system. The third person screenshots match with the first person screenshots, indicating that it is probably an M4.
The above shot could be reversed, explaining the apparent "lefty" M4. And the 203 also seems to lack a trigger guard. Spartan198
- Good point. True, I see what you mean, however there has to be a logical reason to reverse an image. Also, what are the chances of a left-handed character model, when out of a 100 games I've played, only Counter Strike had a left hand option. On the other hand, the M4A1 in the first game had the same issue with its "lefty" problem. --Blemo
Well Modern Warfare doesnt seem like a CS game or those games that have lefty guns for the sake of coolness. So I seriously doubt they are putting lefty M4s in the hands of right handers for the sake of cooliness...I hope Excalibur01 06:29, 12 July 2009 (UTC)
- Maybe the image was scanned from a magazine backwards? Sounds stupid, I know, but it's a possibility. ~ Revolver
Looking more carefully at it, it now seems clear that it is indeed a lefty M4. It has no ejection port, no magazine catch, and the bolt release is visible on it, too. And it also appears to have an ambidextrous safety. Infinity Ward really f'd up this "M4"... I hope this is something they go back and fix. Spartan198
M16 rifle
The front cover's soldier (who is apparently a US Marine with his desert MARPAT uniform) has a M16 rifle.
AK-47
The AK-47 on this game is has the same if not better attachments as on the previous version.
Thus far as of the gameplay demo "cliffhangar" release, the AK-47 is seen with an ACOG sight, red dot sight and also as a Grenadier-configured weapon.
Bushmaster ACR
Used by Roach in the gameplay demonstration at the E3's Microsoft conference. It is equipped with Remmington 6.8x43mm SPC ammunition, a silencer, reflex sight, heartbeat monitor, and a 30 round magazine.
NOTE:The caliber is a mistake, the magazine Roach is using is a Pmag they only make those in 5.56 and the only magazine for 6.8 spc that holds 30 rounds is from Barret firearms and it looks like an extended black GI magazine.
- That's Irrelevant, the 6.8x43mm fits in the 5.56x45mm Magazines anyway. Revolver
Mk 14 Mod 0 EBR
Unknown Rifle
FN F2000
An FN2000 Tactical (denoted by lack of optical sight) is seen in the hands of a Brazilian militia.
FN SCAR
NOTE:the machine gun on the other page looks like a HK MG4 because of the stock but more importantly the optic/carrying handle.
IMI Tavor TAR-21
There is not any picture of it yet, but Robert Bowling aka Fourzerotwo, community manager of Infinty Ward confirmed it in a interview ([1]).
SA-80 or SA-85
Seen in the E3 gameplay demo as an Icon, mistakenly labeled as an "AUG HBAR" , or maybe it was the icon image that was misplaced.
Heckler & Koch G3
Seen momentarily in the reveal trailer. [2]
Heckler & Koch MP5A3
Seen held by the Riot policeman that was likely killed in the shot below. It seems to have a tri-rail forearm. Probably in hands at members of spetsnaz with boards a pistol-automatic machine of Russian manufacture СР-3 "Вихрь"! At least it is most similar to it.
Heckler & Koch UMP
Definete seen with a scope, Possibly an ACOG, but this is unconfirmed. Likely a 45 Model due to the straight magazine, but it might also be the 40.
TDI Vector
Definite, seen with no attachment and possibly seen with suppressor. The May 24th trailer shows a brief scene of the TDI Vector being used with it's experimental 26 round magazine and possible Eotech Holographic sight.
FN P90TR
The FN P90TR weapon pickup symbol can be seen near a destoyed Mig on Mission "Cliffhangar".
M60
Seen in flashback to CoD4 during trailer.
FN Minimi
RPD Light Machine Gun
Winchester 1200
Seen by use of the Russian Riot Police in the trailer
Winchester Model 1887
Armsel Striker
Used by a terrorist assaulting a Russian airport, it seems to have a reflex sight.
SPAS 12
Dragunov SVD
Walther WA2000
Definite, seen with sniper scope.
Springfield Armory Professional 1911
It is possible and most likely that this is the same pistol given to Soap by Captain Price in the 1st game.
Glock
The GameTrailers Analysis states that it is a Glock 22, but this is unconfirmed. It could be a Glock 18 since in the video demo shown at the E3 conference, it fires fully automatically.
- An interesting note is that the Glock fires dramatically slower than a Glock 18 or other converted Glocks. The Glock from the video's rate of fire is only around 600-700 RPM, where as a real Automatic Glock fires around 1100+ RPM -- Mythekal
- The guy COULD just be firing in semi VERY fast so that it seems like it's full auto. A lot of the handguns in COD4 if you tap the trigger in quick successions, it seems almost full auto Excalibur01 04:45, 4 June 2009 (UTC)
- Who ever put the screenshot on the page forgot to remind that the frame color is (tan) "Olive Drab". Glock 18's did not have this color available. Glock 22's just came out with this color somewhere in 2008. Of course I still wouldn't rule out it could be a Glock 18 with a replaced frame. But the writers probably wanted to put a new FBI (.40S&W) caliber into their Video Game arsenal.
H&K USP .45
Shown in a stage demo for GameSpot, Roach wields it with a knife at the same time. There is a similar technique where you do this with a flashlight. If someone would care to name it please do as I forgot for the moment.
- Take your pick from CQC, CQB, Combatives or Defendu. Dongs 11:27, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
- The particular technique shown below with the support arm under the wrist of the main arm indexing the flashlight along the axis of the barrel is called the Harris Method. In this case it's being done with a knife presumably because it looks cool.
- It's actually done for CQC and not just cause it looks cool. A similar method to this is what Snake does on MGS.But he holds the Knife with the gun by the grips.Perhaps the Harris method is more comfortable than Snake's CQC method,so they made it that way.
- Harries technique, not Harris. It's used to level a flashlight and a gun at the same time. - Gunmaster45

IMI Desert Eagle
In one scene of the new trailer, presumably a secondary bad guy carries a Jericho 941 Handgun with a laser aiming module attached it. It's hard to say as to whether this is a Jericho or a Desert Eagle, however it appears to be too small to be a Desert Eagle. He quickly shoots two agents in a quick draw at point blank before shooting at a USSF member sitting in a car.
Confirmed as a Desert Eagle.
