Global Operations was an online first-person shooter developed by Barking Dog Studios and released by Crave Entertainment/Electronic Arts in 2002. During development, the Vancouver-based development team rented real firearms from Felcan Enterprises, the same Canadian movie armory that has supplied weapons to Stargate: SG1, The X-Files, and other productions filmed in Vancouver. (Some additional weapons were also rented from the California-based armory Gibbons Ltd.) The artists fired and took pictures of the guns that they rented, and used this source material to depict the firearms more realistically than any game which had been released up to that time. This is perhaps the first time any game development team ever attempted this, and it has since become common practice for many big-budget games (e.g. the Call of Duty franchise).
The following weapons appear in the video game Global Operations:
Pistols
Colt Anaconda
The Colt Anaconda is the one handgun in the game and can be upgraded with a scope. It appears in the game as the 'Anaconda'.
IMI Desert Eagle Mk. VII
The Desert Eagle Mk. VII is one of the handguns in the game. The markings indicate it is chambered in .50 Action Express.
Glock 18C
The Glock 18C appears in the game and can be upgraded with extended magazine and tactical lights. Referred in the game as '18C'.
Para Ordance P-14
The Para Ordance P-14 is one of the handguns in the game appearing as the 'P14' and can be upgraded with a suppressor and laser sight.
SIG Pro SP P2340

Remington 870
The Remington 870 in black synthetic furniture is one of the shotguns in the game and can be upgraded with tactical lights. It is referred as the '870' in game.
Franchi SPAS-15

The Micro Uzi appears in the game and can be upgraded with an extended 32 round magazine and suppressor.
Assault Rifles
Norinco Type 56/Norinco Type 84S
Although the game refers to this weapon as the AK-47, it is in fact a Norinco Type 84S which can be noted by the straighter 5.56x45mm magazine (visible when reloading) and hooded sight. However pre-release pictures shows it as the Norinco Type 56. It can be modified with a scope.
Heckler & Koch G36K
The Heckler & Koch G36K appears in the game as the 'G36' and can be modified with a Beta-C magazine.
Heckler & Koch G11
The Heckler & Koch G11 is one of the assault rifles in the game.
SIG SG550
The SIG SG 550 assault rifle appears in the game and can be upgraded with a clipped extra magazine and scope.
L1A1
The L1A1 appears in the game as the 'FAL', however it can be differentiated from FN FAL by the fact that it has two vent holes in the handguard and has a longer barrel with longer flash eliminator. It can be modified with a scope.
Olympic Arms K3BM4-A3
The Olympic Arms K3BM4-A3 appears, referred to as "Olympic Arms M4". The reason for the presence of this M4 clone is that Felcan Enterprises, the Canadian armory which supplied weapons to the development team, seems to use mostly Olympic Arms lower receivers for most of its AR-model rifles. The 3D artists would have photographed one of these guns to use for the textures on the in-game gun model. It can be modified with a scope, suppressor, and Beta-C drum magazine.
Sniper rifles
SVD Dragunov
The SVD Dragunov sniper rifle appears in the game and can be upgraded with a 10x scope.
Heckler & Koch PSG-1
The Heckler & Koch PSG-1 is one of the sniper rifles available in the game and can be upgraded with an extended magazine.
Remington 710
The Remington Model 710 is referred in game as the '710' and can upgraded with a 12x scope.
Accuracy International AW50F
The 'AW50' in the game is actually a Accuracy International AW50F which is noted by the unique barrel and muzzlebrake.
Machine Guns
Daewoo K3
In the game, this is supposed to be an M249, but the weapon model is clearly a Daewoo K3, a South Korean machine gun. The reason for this is that Felcan Enterprises, the Canadian armory which rented weapons to the development team, only seems to have K3s in inventory, and not genuine M249s. Note that the in-game weapon has a fake M249 Paratrooper stock machined from sheet metal, identical to the K3s seen in 3000 Miles to Graceland and early seasons of Stargate: SG1; this is because the weapon provided to the dev team by Felcan is one of the same guns used in those productions.
Knight's Armament Stoner 96 LMG
The Knight's Armament Stoner 96 LMG is featured in the game and can be upgraded with a scope and 200 round ammo box. It appears in the game simply as '96'.
M240B
The M240B is one of the machine guns available in the game and can be upgraded with a 200 round magazine. Although it is clearly a M240B the game refers it as the 'M240G'.
Heckler & Koch HK21E
The Heckler & Koch HK21E appears in the game and can be upgraded with a 200 round magazine. It appears in the game as the '21E'.
Launchers
Heckler & Koch HK69A1
The Heckler & Koch HK69A1 grenade launcher appears in the game.
M72 LAW
The M72 LAW appears in the game as the 'LAW'. It is one of the few games to show it having a single-shot capacity.
Grenades
M26 hand grenade
The M26 hand grenade is available in the game as the 'Grenade'.
M18 grenade
The M18 smoke grenade is available in the game in various versions.
