S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl is the long-awaited sequel to the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games, developed and published by GSC Game World, with a planned release date for the 28th April, 2022 on PC and Xbox Series consoles. It is a first-person survival horror shooter game, like the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games, and is set to return to the Zone, now rendered beautifully in Unreal Engine 5 and featuring proper character voice acting and motion capture, along with vastly better graphics.
Initially announced following the release of S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Call of Pripyat, it was initially planned to have released in 2012, before it was ultimately cancelled on the year of its intended release. The game resurfaced years later in 2018, with the release date set for 2022. It will be the first Stalker game published in 13 years since 2009's Call of Pripyat, is the first to be released on consoles and the first to have official multi-player, stated to release in a post-launch update on GSC's website.
