The military stopped issuing F/A M14's because they were too hard to control, existing rifles were fixed to fire semi only. M14/M1A's come in 3 barrel lengths 22", 18" bush or scout and the 16"socom.
The military uses the 22 or 18. the navy seals prefer the 18" in the sage ebr chassis. MOD 0 or MOD 1

Mk 14 Mod 0 EBR

This weapon is actually called Mk. 14 Mod 0 EBR (Mark 14 Mod 0 Enhanced Battle Rifle). Even thought the internal parts are from an M14, this weapon is not called M14 EBR. This is a common mistake. It was developed for the US Navy (SEAL Teams to be more precise), and thus it is type classified as a "Mark" weapons system.

Mr. & Mrs. Smith wasn't a sage stock, it was a TROY SOPMOD, a total gas system conversion to make the rifle more compact.
It pre dated the sage system by about 3 years. Very limited availability
