The Viral Factor is a 2012 action movie directed by Dante Lam. Jay Chou and Nicholas Tse star as two long-lost brothers, on opposite sides of the law, who reunite to stop a group of criminals from releasing a deadly strain of smallpox.
The following weapons were used in the film The Viral Factor:
A guard at the Asian Center for Disease Control (ACDC) aims a Beretta 92FS at Man Yeung when he escapes after stealing a smallpox sample.
Glock 17
The Glock 17 is the most frequently seen weapon in the film, and is used by various points by Jon Man (Jay Chou), his brother Man Yeung (Nicholas Tse), various IDC agents, henchmen and Malaysian police officers.
Fully automatic Glock 17
A Glock 17 converted to fully automatic fire and with a 33 round magazine is used by Jon's International Defence Commission (IDC) partner Ross (Carl Ng) to protect Parker when their team is attacked during a mission in Jordan. Sean Wong uses one in Kuala Lumpur when battling IDC agents.
Glock 26
A Glock 26 is carried by Ice (Bing Bai) during a mission to protect a scientist in Jordan.
Heckler & Koch USP
Agent Sean Wong (Andy On) uses a Heckler & Koch USP when he betrays his comrades in Jordan. IDC agent Parker uses one as his main sidearm during the Jordanian escort mission.
SIG-Sauer P228
A SIG-Sauer P228 is taken from a Malaysian police officer and used by Jon Man (Jay Chou) in the finale.
Walther P99
A Walther P99 is carried by IDC agent Jon Man (Jay Chou) in Jordan. Corrupt IDC agent Russell (Philip Keung) uses a P99 while chasing Jon and his brother Man Yeung (Nicholas Tse) in Kuala Lumpur.
Revolvers
Taurus Model 85
Man Yeung is seen using an older-model Taurus Model 85 during a flashback sequence. Jon also uses the Taurus in the finale after retrieving it from a dead henchman.
Submachine Guns
Heckler & Koch MP5K-PDW
Ice uses a Heckler & Koch MP5K with a PDW-style stock accessory rails and a red-dot sight in Jordan. Jon later uses a MP5K in the finale when he battles Wong's thugs aboard a cargo ship.
Heckler & Koch MP5A3
Heckler & Koch MP5A3 submachine guns with Surefire weapon lights are used by Jordanian Public Security Force Unit 30 operators when they raid a terrorist hideout. A Royal Malaysian Navy PASKAL VBSS boarding team also uses MP5A3s when searching a freighter contaminated with smallpox, as do IDC agents. A thug in the finale uses a MP5A3 without any attachments.
Heckler & Koch MP5A2
Malaysian police officers use MP5A2 submachine guns with Surefire weapon lights. IDC tactical teams also use the same weapom as their main weapon.
Steyr TMP
Man Yeung uses a Steyr TMP in the finale when he and Jon storm a cargo ship where the smallpox virus is being stored.
Shotguns
Benelli M3T Super 90
Man Yeung uses a Benelli M3T Super 90 shotgun during a shootout on the streets of Kuala Lumpur. A henchman also carries a M3T in the final shootout.
Remington 870
A Jordanian PSF Unit 30 operator can be seen holding a short-barreled Remington 870 during an anti-terrorist raid.
Assault Rifles
AKMS
Most of the mercenaries who ambush the IDC agents in Jordan use AKMS rifles.
AKS-47
At least one of the mercenaries in Jordan uses an AKS-47.
Heckler & Koch G3A4
Agent Ross uses a Heckler & Koch G3A4 in Jordan. He loses it after being wounded while being shot by armed mercenaries. The rifle has a picatinny rail on the handguard with a red dot-type scope.
IMI Galil MAR
One of Sean's goons uses one while fending off IDC tactical teams in Malaysia. Several of Gunther's bodyguards use the Galil MAR in the finale.
M4A1 Carbine
PASKAL commandos of the Royal Malaysian Navy use M4A1 carbines while searching a smallpox-contaminated freighter. Later, IDC agents use M4A1 carbines when they raid Sean Wong's hideout. Wong himself uses an unmodified M4A1 in the finale while searching for Yeung and Jon.
Mk 18 Mod 1
Jon uses a Mk 18 Mod 1 carbine in Jordan. The rifle has an early Daniel Defense RIS II handguard coupled with a short barrel and a B5 SOPMOD stock, Aimpoint CompM2 sight, and an AN/PEQ-15 ATPIAL laser aiming module. The rifle is actually built on an XM16E1-style lower receiver, as evidenced by that lack of fencing around the magazine release.
