Davy Crocket uses a caplock rifle in long distance shots, or shots that are not extreme close ups. Davy Crockett in real life, had a caplock rifle at The Alamo and it is on display at the real Alamo.

Bowie Knife

While not a firearm, Jim Bowie's (Richard Widmark) knife is unveiled for the first time in the Alamo, and admired by Davy Crockett (John Wayne).
