The Assassination (Original Czech title: Atentát) is a 1964 Czech black-and-white war drama directed by Jirí Sequens. The story depicts the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich in 1942 which was perpetrated by parachutists from the group ANTHROPOID sent from England. This is considered a cult classic film for those interested in war history.
The following weapons were used in the film The Assassination (Atentát):
Pistols
CZ 38
Czechoslovak paratroopers and their British instructors mostly use CZ 38 pistols.
SACM M1935A
Sgt. Ota Strnad (Rudolf Jelínek) also owns a SACM M1935A pistol.
Walther P38
Some Gestapo men carry a Walther P38 pistol. Czech paratroopers also capture this gun.
Luger P08
Most SS, SD, and Gestapo officers in 1942 are equipped with Luger P08 pistols.
Submachine Guns
Sten
The main weapon of Czechoslovak paratroopers from Great Britain is the Sten submachine gun.
MP40
Some SS soldiers are armed with MP40 submachine guns.
Rifles
Karabiner 98k
Most German soldiers are armed with Karabiner 98k rifles.
12 Gauge Double Barreled Shotgun
A gamekeeper (Oldrich Lukes) carries a 12 Gauge Double Barreled shotgun.
Machine guns
MG34
Germans deploy an MG34 machine gun against the trapped paratroopers.
MG42
An MG42 is seen briefly before becoming an MG34 in a continuity error. The appearance of an MG42 is likely anachronistic as the MG42 was only recently adopted for use at the time of Operation Anthropoid.
Hand grenades
Model 24 Stielhandgranate
Model 24 Stielhandgranates are thrown on defenders by the SS men during the fight in the church.
Training Grenade
The Czechoslovakian troops use dummy grenades while training in Scotland
