Rango is a 2011 CG animated film directed by Gore Verbinski and centers around a pet chameleon (voiced by Johnny Depp) who decides to pass himself off as a tough drifter in order to become the sheriff of a desert town. The film would go on to receive the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. The film is included in the IMFDb because the firearms seen in the film have been depicted in detail and are readily identifiable.
Single Action Army
Rango and many of the townsfolk carry Colt Peacemaker revolvers, which is erroneously depicted as having a swing-out cylinder.
Many of the townsfolk carry Colt 1851 Navy revolvers.
Colt 1860 Army
Several Colt 1860 Army revolvers are seen throughout the movie.
Colt 1849 Pocket
Spoons carries a Colt 1849 Pocket revolver.
Allen & Thurber Pepperbox
Waffles uses a pair of Allen & Thurber Pepperbox revolvers.
Remington Derringer
Ambrose carries a single Remington 1866 Derringer.
Winchester Model 1866 "Yellow Boy"
Buford is seen with a Winchester Model 1866 "Yellow Boy" rifle during the posse's search for the stolen water.
Henry 1860
Buford's rifle switches to a Henry 1860 rifle during the posse's confrontation with the moles. It was, most likely, done intentionally to homage live action western movies, which often have such continuity mistakes (as CGI animating processes use models and it's high unlikely that a model of Henry 1860 was done, scrapped and accidentally used).
Gatling Gun
The mole clan is seen riding bats with hand-cranked belt-fed Gatling Guns attached to their saddles. Rattlesnake Jake is shown using a Gatling Gun attached to his tail in place of a rattle. How this works exactly is never addressed.
Double Barrel Shotgun
Many of Dirt's citizens carry Side-by-Side double-barreled shotguns with exposed hammers, likely modeled after the Colt 1878.
Winchester model 1887
The gun rack in the Sheriff's office holds several Winchester Model 1887 shotguns.
