Mikhail Ilych Romm (January 24 (Old Style 11 January), 1901 – November 1, 1971) was a notable Soviet film director, best known for such movies as Dream (Mechta) (1941), Nine Days in One Year (Devyat dney odnogo goda) (1962) and 1965 documentary Triumph Over Violence (Russian title Obyknovenniy fashizm - Ordinary Fascism).
