: I'm not so sure. That second image isn't really sharp enough to tell if the trigger has the 'hook' or not, and from far away and/or without good detail the 226 and 228 trigger guards look quite similar. That said I will grant the barrel/slide seem a bit short for a 226, but again with this image it's tough to tell. The other shots show what are certainly P226s so I think we need a better image before we make any such note that there are different guns. ::I think that it looks odd because it is not actually a SIG. Instead I am pretty sure it is a Zastava CZ99. That gun has an angular trigger guard but less of an actual "hook" at the bottom so it is sort of half way between a P226 and P228 which is what this gun appears to be. More definitively though, you can see that the gun has an ambi decocker on the right side which the P226 and P228 lacks. --commando552 (talk) 05:48, 31 October 2020 (EDT) |

Smith & Wesson
There is to my knowledge NO Model 66 made that has a full underlug shroud. Unless it was some (extremely rare) special run, but that's doubtful. All-told I'm certain the gun is still indeed a Model 686. Compare the 'screen-used' gun image with that of a 66 and it's clear the frame shape and size isn't exactly the same (which would fit). As for the 'note': Early-version 686s featured rounded cylinder releases, and the sights were slightly different. These parts, along with the hammer, are/were shared across several S&W models. Tapp's P226
Note that in different frames the trigger guard Sig P226 looks different: in the first frame there is a standard square trigger guard, and in the second frame it is rounded, as in P228

- I'm not so sure. That second image isn't really sharp enough to tell if the trigger has the 'hook' or not, and from far away and/or without good detail the 226 and 228 trigger guards look quite similar. - I think that it looks odd because it is not actually a SIG. --commando552 (talk) 05:48, 31 October 2020 (EDT)
