There is to my knowledge NO Model 66 made that has a full underlug shroud. Unless it was some (extremely rare) special run, but that's doubtful. All-told I'm almost certain the gun is a Model 686. Early-version 686s featured rounded cylinder releases. As for the sights and hammer, these are standard parts shared across several S&W models. Smith & Wesson

There is to my knowledge NO Model 66 made that has a full underlug shroud. Unless it was some (extremely rare) special run, but that's doubtful. All-told I'm almost certain the gun is a Model 686.
