Dawn of the Dead (1978): Difference between revisions
Used by all SWAT members , in particular, the characters of Peter (Ken Foree) and Roger (Scott H. Reiniger) but eventually discarded after raiding the gun store. In one shot, when Peter is unloading his weapon after shooting the zombie kids, we can see the tiny .22lr magazine. The Adler-Jager (also marked Armi-Jager) AP-74 is an inexpensive .22 AR15 clone (that was actually pretty close to an SP1 and much better looking than the .22 M16 clone made by Armscor). The guns were pretty much 'mime' fired, with only the sound effect and blood squibs to indicate that the rifle was fired and is used in place of the M16A1.
The Armorers for the movie was an East Coast outfit called "The Plastics Factory", however other information on them are unavailable.
Break Top Shotgun
Seen in the hands of Martinez's men in the beginning of the film, also seen later in the hands of "rednecks".
Unknown Stainless Revolver
M1911A1
The Head police officer, Blades, and Peter all use the M1911A1.
Multiple M101 Howitzers can be seen being transported by the National Guard.
Ruger Single Six
A Colt Peacemaker single action type revolver is used by one of the survivors.
Roger appears to be loading this gun with .22 rounds, so that would mean it is most likely a Single Six. It could still be a Peacemaker, but Roger loaded it with blank rounds.
1866 Derringer pistol
Peter(Ken Foree) contemplates committing suicide with this gun until he decides to go with Fran (Galen Ross) to help protect her and her unborn baby.
As with many other guns in this film it appears to be a .22 also.
While waiting for Roger (Scott H. Reiniger) to return as a zombie Peter (Ken Foree) appears to be holding a nickle plated S&W Model 36. There is a possibility that it is the stainless steel Model 60 as well.
It has ribbing over the barrel which means it might be a nickel Colt Trooper gun. - Gunmaster45
I agree.That sure isn't a S&W revolver. I remembered it as a S&W but now I think it might be an F.I.E. revolver. --Jcordell 01:51, 1 May 2009 (UTC)Jcordell
Colt Python
During the famous gunstore sequence there is a brief glimpse of a Colt Python in the display case. It is taken but never used.
Colt Navy Revolver
During the gun shop scene a character is seen holstering what appears to be a pair of Colt Navy 1851 black powder revolvers. Probably replicas manufactured by Uberti.
An Unknown firearm, is seen in the gunshop (in green circle)
Smith & Wesson 916
A Smith & Wesson 916 shotgun is seen during the S.W.A.T. raid at the beginning of the film. One is also carried by one of the bikers when they attack the mall.
Thompson M1928A1
One of the bikers(Larry Vaira) who invade the mall is using a M1928 Thompson submachine gun with a fifty round drum magazine.
MP-40
M26A1 grenade
Mark II grenade
Savage 99 rifle
Peter (Ken Foree) takes a scoped Savage 99 lever action rifle, chambered in 300 Savage, from the gun store for his personal use. He later uses it against the bikers when they invade the mall.
K98 Sporter
Marlin Model 1894
M1917 Enfield
One of the rifles on the left side of the red circle appear to be an M1917 Enfield bolt-action rifle.
Arisaka Type 38 rifle
On the right side of the red circle, an Arisaka Type 38 rifle can be seen.
Marlin Model 25
Steve originally uses this rifle but is incompetent with it. During the sequence when Roger (Scott H. Reiniger) and Peter (Ken Foree) are venturing forth from the safety of the mall to get the trucks Fran (Galen Ross) is providing cover fire from the roof of the mall with a rifle. It appears to be a 22 caliber rifle based on the bore size.
Lightgun Thompson
Lightgun Rifle
Several Unidentified Firearms
There are a Multitude of Firearms I cannot identify, if you can identify them feel free to contribute.
