M1903 Springfield
Bert the Cop carried an M1903 Springfield during World War 2 when he fought in North Africa.
Colt Official Police
Bert the Cop carries a holstered Colt Official Police and uses it near the end when George Bailey runs away to shoot Bailey after George Bailey wished that he was never born.
M1911A1
During World War 2 and when we see Marty order his troops to clear the Remington Bridge, several men have holstered M1911A1,identified by their holster type.
