The following weapons appear in the video game America's Army 3:
M16A4 Rifle
One of the first weapons available to the player is the M16A4 rifle, taking the place of the older M16A2 rifle in the previous game. It can be fitted with various accessories including an M68 Aimpoint or ACOG scope, Surefire weaponlight, and an M320 grenade launcher as mentioned below. A Designated Marksman variant is also available, with semi-automatic fire only and an ACOG scope.
M4A1 Carbine
Another weapon the player can use in the game is the M4A1 carbine, which can be customized similarly to the M16A4 rifle mentioned above.
M249 SAW
As with the previous America's Army game, the M249 SAW appears as the primary weapon of the automatic rifleman in the game, fitted with accessory rails on the sides of the handguard and on the feed tray cover, using either 200-round ammo drums or 100-round soft-bags.
M67 Hand Grenade
One of several grenades available to the player is the M67 hand grenade, and the only lethal U.S. grenade available in the game.
M18 Smoke Grenade
One of two non-lethal U.S. grenades available in the game is the M18 smoke grenade, the ones in the game emitting only white smoke.
M84 Stun Grenade
The second of two non-lethal U.S. grenades the player can use is the M84 stun grenade, also known as a "flash-bang". Anyone caught in the blast radius of this grenade will be rendered blind & deaf and unable to defend themselves for several moments.
M320 Grenade Launcher
The Heckler & Koch M320 grenade launcher appears in the game replacing the M203 grenade launcher and can be mounted on the M16A4 rifle and M4A1 carbine. Current information on the game (as of April 15, 2009) lists it as being able to fire only HEDP (High-Explosive Dual-Purpose) grenade rounds, though non-lethal rounds may be added as the game nears release.
"Obran NP"
Unlike the previous America's Army game, the OPFOR (Opposing Forces) in the game are equipped with a family of fictional weapons known as the "Obran" series, which are based on the Galil assault rifle. The "Obran NP" (Nastak Pusbrata; Assault Rifle) is the OPFOR counterpart to the M16A4 rifle and features matching semi auto/3-round burst fire modes. It is also fitted with accessory rails on the handguard and on top of the reciever just like the M16A4.
"Obran KNP"
The "Obran KNP" (Krotid Nastak Pusbrata; Short Assault Rifle) serves as the OPFOR counterpart to the M4A1 carbine and is almost identical to the Obran NP save for having a shorter barrel and replacing the 3-round burst with full auto fire.
"Obran LMK"
The "Obran LMK" (Lutimak Mitroja Kusbra: Light Machine Gun) serves as the OPFOR counterpart to the M249 SAW, and features a heavy barrel and a Beta-C drum magazine instead of the standard 30-round box magazine, and a heavy stock similar to that used on the Heckler & Koch PSG-1.
"U-23A1 Hand Grenade"
The fictional "U-23A1 hand grenade" appears as the OPFOR counterpart to the M67 hand grenade, and appears like a cross between a Mk 2 hand grenade and M26 hand grenade.
"U-72 Smoke Grenade"
The fictional "U-72 smoke grenade" appears as the OPFOR equivalent to the M18 smoke grenade and is similar in appearance, save for a bell-shaped body design. Like the M18 in the game, it only emits white smoke.
"U-113 Flashbang"
The fictional "U-113 Flashbang" serves as the counter to the M84 stun grenade and is similar in appearance save for the shape of the body, though has the same effects on those caught in its blast radius.
