Numerous Sturmgewehr 44 are seen in the movie. They are visually modified (in two different versions) in order to resemble more modern guns, used during the Congo Crisis. These mockups, made on Belarusfilm studios, are different from Mosfilm fake M16, often seen in Soviet movies.

The second model retains the buttstock thought sometimes the standard one is replaced with a custom. The barrel is covered with a cylinder foregrip with slots. It appears to stand in for the somewhat mysterious version of IMI Romat (with Type 1 receiver), that were used in Congo. See the talk page for additional info.
