Forty Thousand Horsemen is a 1940 Australian war movie directed by Charles Chauvel. Three young Australians, Red, Larry and Jim, join the army at the beginning of World War I and are assigned to the Australian 4th Light Horse Brigade, which is serving in Palestine. The three eventually take part in the march to Ogratina, the Battle of Romani, the Battle of Gaza, and in the attack during the Battle of Beersheba, which was the last cavalry charge in modern warfare.
