If you look at the screencaps of the M16, you will see that it definitely has A1 handguards, which means it is an M16A1.

- Well, I actually think it's an A1 because of its shape. The A2 handguards have a straight shape (length wise) while the A1 shape is almost like a triangle. Here's the screenshot:
