The FAD (Spanish: Fusil Automático Doble; lit. "Dual Automatic Rifle") is a Peruvian bullpup assault rifle chambered for the 5.56x45mm NATO round and offers low recoil, weight and volume while at the same time giving precision and adequate range in a single package. It is intended to be used by armored crews as a back-up weapon, and is not meant for export, meant to be used domestically by Peru. The FAD was designed by Salomón Braga Lozo of SIMA Electronica, a division of the Peruvian state-owned SIMA.
