Plot
The 95 minute western film folloss the story of Rafe Covington (Tom Selleck), a man who promises to keep his friend, Charles Rodney, promise that he'll look over his wife and ranch. Rodney is shanghaied and killed, and Covington travels to Wyoming with his friends Rock and J.T. Covington discovers that oil is dotted throughout the ranch, and that Rodney's wife, Anne, has moved to town to live with saloon owner Bruce Barkow (Barkow has kept his darker side away from Anne. We later discover that he had Rodney killed in order to get the oil on the ranch). Covington befriends Joe Gill, an old man who agrees to help Covington run the ranch. Snake (the leader of Barkow's men) gets drunk and threatens to kill Covington but Covington shoots him before Snake can get a shot off. Barkow attempts to kick Covington of the ranch, but when Covington refuses, Barkow hires a bounty hunter, Bo Dorn, to kill Covington and retake the ranch. Covington reveals the secret of oil on the ranch to Anne, who begins to rethink about Barkow. Only a few minutes later, J.T. is shot and killed by Dorn. Seeking revenge, Covington, Rock and Joe go after Barkow and Dorn. At town, a big gunbattle begins, and several civilians join Covington against Barkow and his men. Joe is wounded in the leg, but Rock and Joe, with help from the gunstore owner, manage to kill several of Barkow's men. Meanwhile, Covington and Dorn shoot at each other several times before Covington is wounded in the shoulder and falls to the ground. Thinking Covington dead, Dorn walks over but Covington shoots Dorn in the ankle and then in the heart, killing him. As Covington stands up, he is shot again in the back by Barkow. Still alive, Barkow prepares to kill Covington but Anne kills Barkow by shooting him in the back. With all of Barkow's men, Barkow himself and Dorn dead, the town returns back to a peaceful life.
- The point of a plot summary is to SUMMARIZE the film, not tell the whole story. Now that I know how it ends, I guess I don't need to watch it... - Gunmaster45
I found out some more guns, but could somebody add pics?--User: Colt Revolver Fan.
Smith and Wesson Schofield
Rafe Covington's (Tom Selleck) main sidearm is a Smith and Wesson Schofield, which he mainly uses in a quickdraw holster. He mostly carries this weapon in the first half of the film, but uses it along with his SAA in the end gunbattle.
Colt SAA
Several characters use Colt SAA's as thier sidearms. Snake (the leader of Barkow's men) keeps one in a crossdraw holster and several other characters keep them in quickdraw holsters. Snake uses his SAA to try to kill Covington. Rock keeps an SAA in a quickdraw holster, while his friend J.T. keeps one in a crossdraw holster. Rock uses his SAA in the end gunbattle after running out of rounds from his Winchester. Joe Gill sometimes keeps an SAA in a quickdraw holster. Covington steals an ivory handled Colt SAA from the captain who murdered his friend and carries it mainly in the second half of the film in a crossdraw holster. He carries both his Colt and his Smith and Wesson in the end battle and uses both of them. Covington uses the Colt to kill Dorn after being wounded in the shoulder by him. Bo Dorn, the bounty hunter, keeps a Colt SAA in a shoulder holster as a backup to his Remington. In the end battle, he wields both the Remington and the Colt akimbo style, but uses the Colt to wound Covington in the shoulder. Bruce Barkow, the evil saloon owner, also keeps an SAA concealed in a shoulder holster, which he draws at the end of the film in the end gunbattle. The gun shop owner attempts to bring some Winchesters over to the good guys at the end gun battle before being shot in the leg by Barlow.

Charles Rodney orders an 1876 Musket (full-stock configuration) but dies before it reaches him. Covington picks it up instead. After Snake threatens to kill him, Covington shoots him with the 1876 (when Snake is hit he is unrealisticly launched off his feet). At the end gun battle, Covington uses the 1876 in the first part of the gunbattle, put then sets it down and uses his handguns to face Dorn. Anne finds the 1876 and uses it to shoot and kill Barkow moments before Barkow can kill Covington.
