The player starts off with an [[M1 Garand]] rifle on most of the mission. Virtually every U.S soldier is equipped with this rifle in the game. When reloading, it appears that the player character uses his hand in a quick motion to prevent the bolt from slamming after inserting a clip, and then manually pushes it forward. This is the only ''Call of Duty'' game where this method is used; in the others, the player character either lets the bolt snap automatically forward, or needs to push it himself. | The player starts off with an [[M1 Garand]] rifle on most of the mission. Revision as of 01:28, 13 April 2019
The following weapons are used in the video game Call of Duty 2: Big Red One:
Pistols
Colt M1911A1
SACM M1935A
The SACM M1935A appears, incorrectly referred to as the version manufactured by MAS.
Walther P38
Rifles
M1 Garand
The player starts off with an M1 Garand rifle on most of the mission. Virtually every U.S soldier is equipped with this rifle in the game. When reloading, it appears that the player character uses his hand in a quick motion to prevent the bolt from slamming after inserting a clip, and then manually pushes it forward. This is the only Call of Duty game where this method is used; in the others, the player character either lets the bolt snap automatically forward, or needs to push it himself.
Karabiner 98k
The Karabiner 98k is the rifle used by the Germans in almost every mission. A scoped sniper rifle version can be found in some levels.
MAS-36 rifle
The MAS-36 rifle is used by the French. Only available in the second level after the tutorial.
Carcano M38
The Carcano M38 is used by the Italians in the "Piano Lupo" level only.
M1903A4 Sniper Rifle
The M1903A4 Sniper Rifle can be found in some levels.
M1 Carbine
The M1 Carbine is another widely used weapon that can be found on U.S soldiers later in the game. It uses a V-notch rear sight instead of an aperture. The HUD icon depicts the M1A1 variant, which has a folding stock.
Gewehr 43
The Gewehr 43 is another widely used weapon that can be found on German soldiers later in the game.
Sturmgewehr 44
The Sturmgewehr 44 is an assault rifle mostly used by the Germans in the Omaha Beach level.
Submachine Guns
M1A1 Thompson
The player starts off with an M1A1 Thompson after being promoted to Corporal in the Piano Lupo level. The Bonus Materials description inaccurately states that it was used by gangsters during the Prohibition era, whereas it was the M1921; in fact, the M1A1 wasn't in existence during that time.
MAS 38
The MAS-38 is used by the Vichy French forces in the second level.
MP40
The MP40 is one of the most common weapons found in the game. Used virtually by every German later in the game.
Beretta Model 38 Hybrid
A hybrid between the Beretta Model 38/42 and the Model 38/44 appears in the game; it has the former's recoil spring extension at the back of the receiver, and the latter's unfluted barrel. It is erroneously referred to as the earlier Model 38A, though, and incorrectly fires from a closed bolt. It is used by the Italians in the Sicilian invasion level.
Machine Guns
Breda M30
The Breda M30 can be found in the hands of the Italians in the "Piano Lupo" level.
Breda Modello 37
The Breda Modello 37 appears in single player as the "BM37".
Browning M2
The Browning M2 is a heavy support weapon found in stationary positions around the game. As well as on vehicles.
Browning M1919
The Browning M1919A4 is a support weapon that can be found mounted on some walls. The player starts off with the Browning M1919A6 in one of the levels.
]
Chatellerault M1924/29
The Chatellerault M1924/29 is a support weapon used by the French in the second level.
M1914 Hotchkiss Machinegun
The M1914 Hotchkiss Machinegun is a support weapon found in the missions that are based on Operation Torch.
M1918A2 Browning Automatic Rifle
The M1918A2 Browning Automatic Rifle is usable in some levels levels. The Bonus Materials description makes a similar mistake as with the Thompson, by stating that the M1918A2 BAR was Clyde Barrow's weapon choice, when it was actually a cut down version of the original M1918, and the M1918A2 wasn't in existence during his crime spree.
MG34
The MG34 is a support weapon that can be picked up and found later in the game.
MG42
The MG42 is a support weapon that is extensively used by the Germans later in the game.
Explosives
M9 Bazooka
The M1 Rocket Launcher "Bazooka" is an anti-tank weapon that is usually found in places where tanks are present.
Panzerschreck
The Panzerschreck is another anti-tank weapon that is usually found more common than the M9 Bazooka. Just like the M9 it is usually found in places where an armored vehicle is present.
Panzerfaust
The Panzerfaust is an anti-tank weapon found in the hands of the Germans. It cannot be picked up by the player in the campaign; it is only usable in multiplayer.
Mk 2 hand grenade
The player starts off with Mk 2 hand grenades on almost all the missions.
Model 24 Stielhandgranate
The Model 24 Stielhandgranate is used by the Axis forces and can be picked up.
Other
8.8cm Flak 18/36
The Flak 88mm is available for use in the mission "The Great Crusade"
Discussion
Can we make this an actual page?
This page is a lot better structured than it was before, because the weapons have been categorized by headers plus more of the weapons have video game screenshots of them.
I was thinking based on that, that this can go from a discussion to an actual page. --Prat21 (talk) 10:52, 23 August 2018 (EDT)
- Can you get all the necessary screenshots? --Funkychinaman (talk) 12:09, 23 August 2018 (EDT)
- If it comes to the Xbox One backwards compatibility list, I will definitely buy it and get some proper images. Just have to hope Microsoft keeps growing the catologue in that regard.--AgentGumby (talk) 13:17, 23 August 2018 (EDT)
- I have it as well, but I'm not holding my breath. Backwards compatibility for original Xbox games don't come as frequently as they do for 360 games. --Funkychinaman (talk) 13:29, 23 August 2018 (EDT)
- @Prat21 if you want it to have its actual page, you'll have at least to replace the current screenshots with your own ones. Most of the ones present here are either low-quality/cropped or taken from other websites (with clear watermarks). --Ultimate94ninja (talk) 06:28, 27 August 2018 (EDT)

Can we make it into an actual page now? I really beefed it up.--Prat21 (talk) 20:57, 19 February 2019 (EST)
- Do you have enough to complete the page? Because there's no point creating yet another incomplete page. --Funkychinaman (talk) 23:57, 19 February 2019 (EST)
Okay it's ready to become a page. --Prat21 (talk) 17:14, 12 April 2019 (EDT)
- Can you get a cap of the M1914 Hotchkiss Machine gun? --Funkychinaman (talk) 20:05, 12 April 2019 (EDT)
Here it is I think I got it. --Prat21 (talk) 20:39, 12 April 2019 (EDT)
