Black Sun (the direct translation of the original title Chyornoye solntse) is a 1970 Soviet historical drama directed by Aleksei Speshnev. The story depicts the life and death of Robert Moussombe, the leader of some unnamed African state. The main character is a fictionalised depiction of Patrice Lumumba, and the events mostly follow the Congo Crisis in 1960s. Some other characters also have real life prototypes, like Dag Hammarskjold for John Bart, or Moise Tshombe for Jacques Loup.
