The Rookie is a 2018 television series starring Nathan Fillion as John Nolan, a forty-something construction business owner who decides to move to Los Angeles and become an officer with the LAPD. During his probationary period, he must deal with the trials of being a new officer on the job at his age as well as animosity from his watch commander and other fellow officers. The series premiered in the US on ABC in October of 2018.
The following weapons were used in the television series The Rookie:
The Smith & Wesson M&P fitted with Surefire weaponlights are seen carried by several of the rookie officers in the series, including John Nolan (Nathan Fillion), Jackson West (Titus Makin), and Lucy Chen (Melissa O'Neil).
The M&P recently became the standard department-issued duty weapon for the LAPD.
Smith and Wesson M&P Compact
John keeps a Smith & Wesson M&Pc in his bedroom that he takes out in "The Roundup" (S1E05). The compact pistol also is used as a backup weapon for Ofc. Lucy Chen (Melissa O'Neil), who uses it in "Standoff" (S1E09) and "Caught Stealing" (S1E13).
Smith & Wesson 39
During an investigation, Nolan finds what appears to be a Smith & Wesson 39 in a hidden area in "Pilot" (S1E01).
Beretta 92FS
The Beretta 92FS, the former LAPD department-issued sidearm, appears in the hands of mostly veteran detectives and criminals.
Glock 17 pistols fitted with Surefire X300 weaponlights are carried by LAPD training officers in the series, including PO3 Alyssa Diaz (Angela Lopez), PO3 Talia Bishop (Afton Williamson), and PO3 Tim Bradford (Eric Winter) . Police Sergeant II Wade Grey (Richard T. Jones) appears to carry a Glock 17 as his sidearm. He is seen holding the pistol in "The Switch" (S1E04). In "Caught Stealing" (S1E13), both Nolan and Chen use Glock pistols instead of their S&W pistols. Captain Zoe Andersen (Mercedes Masöhn) also carries the Glock in "Flesh and Blood" (S1E10). The Glock 17 used by the officers is likely a substitute for the Glock 22, the former department-issued sidearm of the LAPD.
Colt Officer's ACP
