The Drowning Pool is a 1975 mystery that is a loose sequel to Harper. Paul Newman reprised his role as L.A. private detective Lew Harper who is hired to look into a case of blackmail. The source novel was set in Southern California while the movie moved the story to Louisiana. The film was written by Walter Hill, Tracy Keenan Wynn (The Longest Yard.The Deep) and Lorenzo Semple Jr. (The Parallax View,Papillon,Three Days of the Condor) and was directed by Stuart Rosenberg.
