When the german soldiers attack the french foreign legionaires, they are using MG34 machine guns.

Two german soldiers can be seen, having MP40 submachine guns, when they go into the building to kill the french foreign legionaires. When the legionaires have killed the two german soldiers, Sgt. Pierre Augagneur (Jean-Paul Belmondo) can be seen using a MP40.
