Major "Whirlwind" (Mayor "Vikhr" ) is a Soviet 1967 B&W war mini series directed by Evgeniy Tashkov and based on the novel by Yulian Semyonov . In 1944 a Soviet special group under the command of Major "Vikhr" ("Whirlwind") is sent to Nazi occupied Krakow. Together with Polish resistance they must prevent the destruction of the city, planned by SS high command.
